The DCPC serves as the official community planning group for Downtown San Diego. The group is made up of 27 volunteers each elected for a two year term to represent Downtown homeowners & tenants, commercial property owners & businesses and community organizations. The group provides a means for public participation relating to the growth and development of Downtown and serves as a communications link to the City.

General Plan

The City's General Plan is its constitution for development. It is comprised of 10 elements that provide a comprehensive slate of citywide policies and further the City smart growth strategy.

The Land Development Code (LDC) contains regulations for the development and use of property including zoning, subdivisions, and other related land use activities.

The DCPC has been formed and recognized by the City Council to make recommendations to the City Council, Planning Commission, City staff, and other governmental agencies on land use matters.
