2020 DCPC ELECTIONS POLL WORKER GUIDELINES
The Downtown Community Planning Council (DCPC) will hold its election for new members on Monday March 9, 2020.
The polls will be open from 11am-1pm and 5pm-7pm. Voting will take place at four locations across Downtown San Diego:
- Cafe de l’Opera – (East Village) 910 J Street., San Diego, CA 92101
- Soleluna Cafe – (Cortez) 702 Ash Street., San Diego, CA 92101
- Caffe Italia – (Little Italy) 1704 India Street, San Diego, CA 92101
- Horton Plaza Park – 900 Fourth Avenue, San Diego, CA 92101
The DCPC serves as the official planning group for Downtown San Diego. The group is made up of 27 volunteers each elected for a two year term to represent Downtown homeowners and tenants, commercial property owners and businesses and community organizations. The group provides a means for public participation relating to the growth and development of Downtown and serves as a communications link to the Civic San Diego Board, the Planning Commission and City Council.
DCPC meets monthly to review design proposals, conditional use permits, development and loan agreements and other downtown development policies and programs such as affordable housing, parking, transportation needs, street lighting, homelessness and social issues.
Interested and eligible individuals may register their candidacy via email at elections@dcpcsd.com. The deadline to file for candidacy is February 14, 2020 at 11:59PM and candidates are encouraged to attend the Candidates’ Forum on February 19, 2020 at the monthly DCPC meeting. The forum and meeting will take place at 401 B St Ste 400, San Diego, CA 92101 at 5:30 PM. Council Members are expected to attend regular meetings and subcommittee meetings to maintain membership on the council.
There are 14 seats up for election this year. All seats are for 2 year terms unless otherwise noted with *.
